Jones Sworn in as HUD Deputy Secretary
Maurice Jones was sworn in as Deputy Secretary of HUD. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in late March.
As the second most senior official at HUD, Jones will be charged with managing the department's day-to-day operations, a nearly $47 billion annual operating budget and the agency's 8,900 employees.
Jones most recently worked in Norfolk, Va., as president of Pilot Media, a print and digital organization in Hampton Roads. He also served as president and publisher of The Virginian-Pilot. He joined Landmark Media Enterprises, owner of Pilot Media, in 2005, serving as vice president of the Landmark Publishing Group. In 2006 Jones became vice president and general manager of Pilot Media.
ISGN Hires Anderson to Lead Product, Technology Strategy
ISGN Corp., Melbourne, Fla., named Tim Anderson director of corporate technology strategy, responsible for developing a roadmap for the company’s delivery of products, services and technology.
Anderson brings more than 30 years of mortgage industry and technology experience to ISGN. Prior to joining ISGN, he served as senior vice president of Lender Processing Services and before that as president of SigniaDocs Inc., where he was involved in development of eCommerce mortgage products and services. Previously he was vice president of eMortgage services with Stewart Transaction Solutions. He also founded eMortgage Alliance, which supports MISMO open standards for compliant paperless processes for mortgages.
Fiserv Names Skelton Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Fiserv Inc., Brookfield, Wis., hired Cliff Skelton as executive vice president and chief information officer. He replaces Maryann Goebel, who will serve as an advisor to the company until her retirement in July.
Skelton will be responsible for global information technology infrastructure and operations, enterprise architecture, technology governance and programs.
Skelton was most recently global chief technology and operations officer at Ally Financial Corp. Prior to joining Ally, he served in senior leadership roles at Bank of America, where he led the integration of strategic acquisitions including Fleet Boston Financial, MBNA Corp. and U.S. Trust. He also held senior executive roles in Bank of America's card services, merchant services and government credit card businesses.
Arbor Promotes Donovan to Lead HUD/FHA Lending Group
Arbor Commercial Mortgage LLC, Uniondale, N.J., appointed Joseph Donovan to senior vice president and director of FHA Lending, in Arbor’s Boston office. He will oversee expansion of Arbor’s targeted FHA Multifamily Lending business.
Donovan previously served as senior vice president of production management. He has 22 years of experience in the real estate finance industry. Since joining Arbor in 1993, he has held various underwriting and production management positions. Prior to Arbor, he worked for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
HFF Washington Hires Hall as Senior Managing Director
Holliday Fenoglio Fowler’s Washington D.C. office hired Tim Hall as a senior managing director. He will head the office’s single tenant net lease practice, and with HFF Dallas’ Mark West, Coler Yoakam and Brandon Chavoya will oversee the firm’s private equity/sale lease back initiative.
Hall has more than 17 years of experience in the real estate and finance industries and joins HFF from CapitalSource Inc., where he served as director since 2001.
Xerox Mortgage Services Hires Marlin, Young as VPs
Xerox Mortgage Services, Atlanta, hired Ken Marlin as vice president of business development and Bryan Young as vice president of product management.
Charged with expanding the network of Xerox’s BlitzDocs certified partners and providers, Marlin will assist lenders, brokers and investors. Young is responsible for regulatory supervision.
Marlin previously served as a national account executive and the alliance manager for the mortgage division of Wolters Kluwer Financial Services. Young spent the past decade at Erxchange, a division of Xerox Services.
Gateway Mortgage Group Expands into St. Louis
Gateway Mortgage Group, Tulsa, Okla., opened two new branches in the St. Louis area at 5 Oak Drive in Maryville, Ill., and 820 S. Main Street, Suite 207 in St. Charles, Mo. Gateway recruited John Kroot to lead the Maryville office and Craig Wania to manage the St. Charles location.
Prior to joining Gateway, Kroot was a branch manager with MetLife Home Loans and previously held leadership positions with several local lenders and banks. Wania was most recently a mortgage originator with First State Bank of St. Charles.
Indecomm Adds Staff in Mortgage Services Division
Indecomm Global Services, Iselin, N.J., added more than 100 new employees across the United States in recent months and its expansion plans include more than 150 additional full-time, U.S. based personnel in 2012. The positions will supply outsourcing services to mortgage lenders.
Walker & Dunlop Opens South Florida Office
Walker & Dunlop Inc., Bethesda, Md., hired three producers to join its Capital Markets group, based out of a new office in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The team consists of originators Paul Ahmed, David Gahagan and E. Lance Lehman, who will join Walker & Dunlop as senior vice presidents. They will focus on financing income-producing properties including office, apartments, hotels, industrial and retail in the southeast region.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Messrs. Ahmed and Gahagan held executive positions at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital LLC. All three specialize in originating and structuring commercial real estate financing and investment sales for all property types.
DocuTech Taps Anderson as EVP of Sales and Marketing
DocuTech Corp., Idaho Falls, Idaho, appointed Chris Anderson as executive vice president of sales and marketing, responsible for managing the sales and marketing departments at Docutech and increasing both sales and brand awareness of the company’s compliance and document services.
Anderson has 17 years of experience. He was previously general manager of global markets and account management at Wipro Gallagher Solutions, where he was responsible for managing and growing WGS' presence in the international markets and managing the organization's customer account teams. Prior to WGS, he served as president of the former Gallagher Financial Systems and led the company through its 2008 acquisition by WGS. He has also held other management level roles both inside and outside of the financial services industry.
Hollenbeck Joins WFG National Title
WFG National Title of Washington, Seattle, named Tom Hollenbeck as senior account manager of its Lender Division, responsible for business development in the mortgage lending segment.
Hollenbeck brings 23 years of industry experience, all with one of the nation’s largest title insurance companies. He was most recently a senior account manager there, maintaining lender relationships in King and Pierce counties. He has eight years of sales and marketing experience in the Portland market; and four additional years as a county manager in both Kittitas County and Pierce County, Wash.
NorthMarq Hires. Nauth in Milwaukee Office
The Milwaukee office of NorthMarq Capital hired Geoffrey Nauth as vice president. He will specialize in the placement of commercial and multifamily loans for NorthMarq’s correspondents including life companies, GSEs and other capital market sources in the Midwest region.
Nauth has more than 30 years of real estate lending and investment experience in the commercial real estate finance industry. Prior to joining NorthMarq, he was principal and founder of a commercial real estate industry advisory group, Nauth Advisory Group LLC, and previously with M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank for 10 years as vice president in its commercial real estate department.
Churchill Mortgage Corp. Hires Neal, Dobbs.
Churchill Mortgage, Brentwood, Tenn., opened an office in Sumner County, Tenn., and hired Joanie Neal as senior loan officer to run the office.
Neal brings more than 15 years of mortgage and banking experience from GMAC, Bank of America and Wells Fargo.
Churchill Mortgage also hired Kelly Dobbs as home mortgage consultant for its Jackson, Tenn. branch. She brings more than 10 years of experience in the mortgage and banking industry with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and will assist customers in originating mortgages throughout west Tennessee and Mississippi.
