Keynote Speakers:

President Bill Clinton
Founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States

Session: Investing in the American Dream

William Jefferson Clinton was elected President of the United States in 1992 and then again in 1996--the first Democratic president to be awarded a second term in six decades. Under his leadership, the country enjoyed the strongest economy in a generation and the longest economic expansion in U.S. history, including the creation of more than 22 million jobs.

After leaving the White House, President Clinton established the William J. Clinton Foundation with the mission to strengthen the capacity of people in the United States and throughout the world to meet the challenges of global interdependence.

To advance the mission, the Foundation is focused on four key areas: economic empowerment, education, environment and energy, health systems and nutrition.

In addition to his Foundation work, President Clinton has joined with former President George H.W. Bush three times--after the 2004 tsunami in South Asia, Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and Hurricane Ike in 2008--to help raise money for recovery efforts and after a series of hurricanes battered Haiti in 2008, President Clinton served as the U.N. Special Envoy for Haiti in 2009.

Rudy Giuliani
Former Mayor of New York City

Session: General Session

Rudolph Giuliani was elected Mayor of the City of New York in 1993. He served two terms in office and under his leadership, New York City became the safest large city in America according to the FBI.

On September 11, 2001, America suffered the worst attack in its history when terrorists crashed planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Having narrowly missed being crushed when the towers fell, Giuliani immediately began leading the recovery of the city as it faced its darkest hour. Giuliani was widely lauded for his steady hand during challenging times. He was named “Person of the Year” by TIME magazine, knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, dubbed “Rudy the Rock” by French President Jacques Chirac and former first lady Nancy Reagan presented him with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Freedom Award.

Giuliani recently ran for the Republican nomination for President of the United States. During his campaign, he galvanized the national debate on such critical issues as national security, education, energy independence, healthcare and the economy.

Admiral Eric Olson
Former Commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command

Session: The World at Night

Eric Olson is a retired United States Navy admiral who served as the commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) from 2007-2011. During his tenure as America's top special operations officer, he was responsible for recruiting, training, equipping, and deploying broadly capable forces worldwide. A senior member of the United States National Defense team, he is often described as one of this century's great military leaders and credited with developing the specialized forces that have accomplished some of the most notable military operations of the past decade.

Olson was the first three-star and then the first four-star Navy SEAL, as well as the first naval officer to be USSOCOM's combatant commander. Olson is known as a visionary and an action-oriented leader who stayed connected with his forces at all levels. Having developed the best of the best, Olson addresses building, training and leading highly effective teams; national security concerns; and our nation's geopolitical challenges.

As the editor and publisher of The Cook Political Report and a political analyst for the National Journal Group and NBC News, his prodigious writing is a direct line to the heart of politics. He writes weekly for National Journal magazine and National Journal Daily and he also pens a regular column for The Washington Quarterly.
